An Grianan theatre in Letterkenny, Donegal, is another fairly new but traditional theatre with a raised stage.
Again very difficult to inject any sense of intimacy.
Luckily the stage area was very large so it was possible to place all the elements and seating on the stage itself, dispensing with the use of the large auditorium which was treated as a light box with colour washes and hanging objects linking to the parallel exhibition, (in the theatre gallery)
Further, the performances were preceded by a lecture demonstration wherein ( ajF_M gave a talk about his working method and read critical essays.
